Two-Wheeler Mode Introduced To Google Maps

It also has the most widely used mobile operating system, a solid video streaming platform, excellent maps and navigation, cloud services and the list just goes on.

Google has rolled out a new "two-wheeler mode" in Maps, the company announced in its Google for India at New Delhi on December 5.

Tech giant, Google has officially updated Google Maps in the country with new features that will help two-wheelers while commuting through the city.

Anyone who has used a smartphone would know what Google Maps is. Mashable notes that Google Maps' motorbike routing feature will also offer users transit time estimates that are better suited to their vehicle type, helping them better estimate how long it will take them to get to their destination. After receiving the update, users in India will get a Two-wheeler option along with the Walk and Drive options that are usually included in the tabs such as Navigation or Get Directions. India is the largest two-wheeler market in the world and hence Google has introduced this feature here to make make travelling easier for people on two wheels. It also gives information about the parking scenario at their destination, a handy feature that was previously seen in the vehicle mode. The two-wheeler map will show short-cut routes for the motorcycle and scooter riders. The new mode is seen put close by the before choices - Car, Foot, and Train. It also gives data about the parking situation at their destination, a convenient component that was beforehand found in the auto mode.

Though it is good to see a Motorcycle mode in Google Maps, it is important to keep in mind that it is not safe for the riders to check the navigation details every now and then as they ride their bike.
