Ronda Rousey Nearing Deal to Make Several Appearances in WWE

Ronda Rousey, WWE reportedly 'finalizing details' for star's move to wrestling

Previous rumors indicate Rousey could be poised for a match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans on April 8, 2018. As The Comeback notes, WWE is about to enter into a new broadcast rights negotiation phase and having a big name like Rousey joining them just as broadcasters are wrangling over those rights could mean a boost for wrestling.

According to an article from USA Today, Ronda Rousey and WWE are "very close" to terms on reaching a deal.

Ronda Rousey's Ultimate Fighting Championship career effectively ended previous year, when she was beaten by Amanda Nunes inside 48 seconds.

She has attended multiple WWE events over the years including the recent Mae Young Classic as she sat in the crowd cheering on Baszler, who was part of the tournament and has since been signed by WWE. "She will get a lot of money and that's great". "I don't want to see it happen". She lost the UFC female bantamweight title to Holly Holm in 2015 after winning her first 12 fights.

Rousey has been working out at the WWE's High Performance Center in Florida and has already made a handful of appearances. Looking at her use of the armbar and adding that to the "shooter like" push she has been getting portraying her as a legit fighter with legit moves that can cause some real damage. Regardless, any potential deal with Rousey is likely to be more along the lines of the one afforded to Brock Lesnar; one in which she is used sparingly as an attraction performer, rather than a full-time in-ring competitor. And she certainly was one of the most mainstream UFC stars.

This summer, the rumors began to fly that Rousey will be taking her talents to WWE following her MMA career. "She showed us what was possible for women and she showed what sort of level you have to be at to fight against the best and to be the best". And now, when it comes to her career, she's all but officially moving on.
