Pokemon Go: Trading, PvP Battles Still 'on the Roadmap'

Pokemon Go update introduces 50 more Gen 3 Pokemon and dynamic weather

These creatures were originated from "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire". In other words, prepare to walk around with your phone out in the rain and snow. Pokemon Go previously increased the maximum Pokemon and item limit back in February when they added "Gen 2" Pokemon to the game, but they haven't touched the maximum level cap since the game came out in 2016. And its evolutions, the other Hoenn region starters, and 41 other Pokemon.

The fact that Niantic chose to incorporate the real-life weather into Pokemon Go's gameplay demonstrates that game developers continue to push boundaries even more. However, others may be fine waiting on Pokemon trading if it means that other new features, like the dynamic weather system, are added instead. It's going to be a whole new game mechanic that will add a new dimension to the gameplay.

Additionally, Niantic confirmed it has added dynamic weather to the game; local conditions around you will cause similar weather in-game.

"We just haven't fully investigated those and talked about how would we want to bring those into Pokemon GO". This will also affect what types of Pokemon are available to be caught at a given time and, more interestingly, how easy they are to nab. For example, you'll have a larger chance of capturing Mudkip if you go out into the rain.

"Players should expect to see a much better match between what's in the game and what's in the world around them", the game's lead developer Matt Slemon said. The real-world weather around Trainers will impact the gameplay of Pokemon GO in a variety of ways that include changing Pokemon habitats and where they can be found, increasing Combat Power, and earning more Stardust after catching a Pokemon. Finally, weather will also aid your caught Pokémon; Charizard's attacks will be more powerful on a sunny day. So, get ready to explore your neighborhood in different weather.
