The accused, identified as Shambhu Lal Regar, is heard warning Islamist jihadists in the video to stay away from India. "One of uncle lived with him and he never complain about the alleged relation".

The accused has been arrested and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been set up for investigation in the case, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said.

Other demands include the immediate arrest of all the killers and attackers in hate crimes cases in Rajasthan and the provision of absolute security to all the Muslims in the state.

"Prima facie, it appears that Regar killed the man and the man was dead when he set the body on fire", Rajsamand superintendent of police, Manoj Kumar, told the Hindustan Times. Sheikh's family is now demanding that the accused be hanged and has said that there is no truth to the claims of marriage to followers of a different religion.

The incident was reported from Rajsamand district of Rajasthan.

In the video, which went viral today, a man in a pair of white pants, a red shirt and white muffler is seen ranting against "love jihad".

Internet had been suspended in Rajsamand to stop the circulation of the video. As is the case with earlier videos of lynching, for example of the dairy farmer Pehlu Khan, Shambhulal's video of the murder followed by his hate speech, justifying the act, too went "viral" on WhatsApp.

As per the report by The Indian Express, the police had received information about a half-charred body of a man being found, who was later identified as Afrazul Khan, from Malda in Wst Bengal.

. There was another video of Raigar, in which he admitted to committing the crime and mentioned that he will surrender. "This is a deplorable act which needs to be condemned in strongest possible terms", she said.

Chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, including Rajasthan, have legitimised the imagined criminality of "love jihad" - the very phrase that shows how Islamophobia is normalised.

The family of the victim has gathered to mourn the loss and demand justice for Afrazul.

Both Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje and Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee condemned the murder. We tell her that they are Muslims, they never settle for one woman, whereas a Hindu boy will be automatically sent to jail if he does so. How can people be so inhuman.
