LaVar Ball Makes It Official: LaMelo Won't Honor UCLA Commitment

LaVar: Sons LiAngelo, LaMelo sign with agent

LiAngelo, 19, was a freshman at UCLA, but was busted for shoplifting in China.

Vitale tweeted: "I told Steve Alford today I don't know if he realizes it but Santa Claus came early for the @UCLAmbb team with LaVar Ball having his son LiAngelo packing his bags / can u just imagine LaVar's antics when his son would not get PT?"

Gaines also represents the oldest of the Ball brothers, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball.

The Ball brothers could even find themselves playing in the Chinese league, where several former National Basketball Association players have gone on to make million-dollar salaries towards the end of their careers.

Like his two older brothers, LaMelo was originally committed to UCLA, with the plan being for him to play there for one year before entering the NBA Draft.

I find it ironic, however, in the same sense that Trump is praised for his willingness to speak his mind - politically correct or not - and for his outspoken personality, Lavar Ball is criticized and has his parental skills questioned.

"There will be three people with them all the time", Ball said. Conversely, it would take a $2,500 bet on LiAngelo going undrafted to win only $100 - a significantly more likely scenario.

LaVar Ball pulled LiAngelo from UCLA on Monday, telling ESPN that he was frustrated that the school hadn't made a determination on the length of his son's suspension following an arrest for shoplifting while in China last month.

He definitively added about LaMelo: "He's not going to play college basketball".

Sources told ESPN that several teams in Europe and Asia have expressed interest. The Ball family's decision effectively strips LiAngelo and LaMelo of their amateur status and prevents them from playing at the college level.
