August - real name Mercedes Grabowski - was found dead in Camarillo, California, on December 5 from a suspected suicide just hours after she was bombarded with abuse online.

Ventura Medical Examiner later confirmed that the star died of asphyxiation due to hanging. Friends said she was suffering from depression and that the criticism of her was a significant factor in her death.

Ames tweeted on Sunday suggesting that she did not work with men who have done gay porn. Ames also criticized agents for not caring about who they represent in the porn industry.

Her cause of death is now unknown, and her husband said "She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me". "I'm not putting my body at risk, i don't know what they do in their private lives", Ames tweeted.

August, whose real name was Mercedes Grabowski, had appeared in more than 270 adult films since her debut in 2013 and won two AVN industry awards, including cutest newcomer in 2015.

'She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me, ' her heartbroken husband, Kevin Moore, told industry trade magazine Adult Video News.
