Amazon Prime Video app finally comes to Apple TV

Apple TV will finally get Amazon Prime Video

And, Prime members in the US, UK, Germany, Austria and Japan can use the app to watch videos purchased or rented on Amazon, as well as view premium network content from providers such as HBO and Showtime.

But the Cupertino company counteracted the attack by omitting any shows offered by Amazon in its iOS 10.2 update that included the TV app for its Apple TV - and the two have been rivals since.

Beginning today, the Prime Video app is available on Apple TV 4K and previous generations of Apple TV in over 100 countries.

Apple at its developers conference back in June announced that it had buried its differences with Amazon and would bring the latter's Prime Video streaming service to the Apple TV this year.

War broke out in 2015 when Amazon banned sales of Apple devices on its platform. As we didn't have access to an Apple TV at the time of writing, we cannot confirm whether it has rolled out officially.

With Amazon finally relenting on its years-long holdout, it seems the company may be finally realizing it needs support from partners like Apple if its streaming video service is going to thrive.

Most notable, the Rocky movies are coming to Prime. Alternatively, you can opt to subscribe just to Amazon Prime Video for £5.99 a month.

Apple and Amazon had been at loggerheads on the issue of Amazon Prime TV support earlier in the year, with Amazon going so far as to pull the Apple TV from its USA storefront, citing potential customer confusion as the reason why.

Google suggested in a statement that the move is due to Amazon not carrying Google products like Chromecast or Nest in its storefront.
