Ubisoft Giving Away Two Free Games for PC This Holiday

Assassin's Creed Origins

Assassin's Creed: Origins is now available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. A couple years later the video game received an expansion pack known as World in Conflict: Soviet Assault that adds new content such as additional campaign missions.

Ubisoft runs its own digital distribution service for games called Uplay, and the free games offer is only being made available through the service. The game - a real-time strategy game set in a world where the Soviet Union invaded the U.S. in the late 1980s - reviewed extremely well at launch, and has since been forgotten somewhat - this is the ideal time to revisit a strategy classic. The Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will be available from December 12 through December 18.

Once downloaded through Uplay during the free periods mentioned above, the games will be yours to keep. Become embroiled in the conflicts of the era and discover your connection to the series' age-old struggle between the Assassins and the Templars.

It is unclear when the Assassin's Creed Origins update is coming out.

The giveaway is part of Ubisoft's Happy Playdays, as well as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the launch of World in Conflict and the creation of the Assassin's Creed franchise. World in Conflict is available starting today, until December 11. The title was later released for PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. The Soviet Assault expansion should provide a helping amount of fuel for "in Soviet Russia" jokes as you invade Europe and the USA, too.
