She said, "We are heartbroken". Added, "He asked me about sexual aids and devices". As for who will replace the talk show host, Lauer's position has not been filled yet.

One woman told Variety that Lauer gave her a sex toy along with a note on how he wanted her to use it.

Dr. Berman gave him a collection of toys from her line, designed for couples who want to spice up their relationship, when the internationally recognized newsman expressed concern about being spotted in a sex shop. Ann Curry's name has been mentioned in passing and, unrelated to Curry but still interesting, the Today show has enjoyed a ratings spike in the days since Lauer has been let go. "She was in the closet of his dressing room about to jump out and scare him or something - I don't know - and she found the bag and was totally heckling him about it and he was mortified", Berman says.

Also, a 2009 interview with Sandra Bullock resurfaced where Lauer told the Oscar-winning actress that he saved her naked photo as a screensaver on his phone.

Berman would be "crestfallen if any of those toys were used to harass any colleagues or any women", she told "Inside Edition".

The Wed., Nov. 30 telecast was Today's biggest audience since Nov. 2, 2016 when President Trump was elected to become the 45 President of the United States.

Lauer was let go after a female colleague complained to NBC officials about a pattern of inappropriate sexual behavior that began while they were on assignment at the 2014 Sochi winter Olympics in Russian Federation, according to NBC statements last Wednesday. "To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry", Lauer said after being silent on the matter on Wednesday. "As I am writing this, I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC".

"Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. It is now my full time job", Lauer said.

Last Thursday, Guthrie read a statement from Lauer on the air in which he apologised for "troubling flaws". It's been humbling. I am blessed to be surrounded by the people I love. What this seems to indicate is that people are eager to see a familiar or fresh face come to the table and they are not letting Lauer's departure hinder their enjoyment of the Today show.
