The Division's Resistance update 1.8 has landed

The Division's Big “Resistance” Update Hits Tomorrow, Will Be Followed by a Free Weekend

Tom Clancy's The Division Update 1.8 has been code-named Resistance by the developers, with the new area of the map being West Side Pier. Everybody who is interested will be able to give it a try, because Ubisoft are also running a free weekend for the game from 7 December.

As detailed on the official comprises whole new gameplay areas, new modes of play and significant changes for the game's Underground sections.

Ubisoft will be updating The Division on Tuesday, December 5th with the free content expansion called Resistance.

Skirmish will pit two teams of four against each other "in a competition to get the highest kill count in timed matches". From the launch of patch 1.8 through the end of the free weekend, all players will also have access to the game's first three DLC expansions for free. Enemies drop resources that can be used to either set up defenses or extend the battlefield, offering more tactical options to the players.

You can check out a trailer flaunting the free weekend and update below. The two new modes are named Resistance and Skirmish. Tom Clancy's The Division is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and Update 1.8 will be available in all versions tomorrow.

Additionally, "Resistance", Update 1.8 will include a new social hub, improvements to the Underground DLC, a revamp of the rogue mechanics, as well as an optimization of the gear system letting players improve the stats of their favorite equipment. "The longer you can survive, the greater the rewards you'll earn". One by one, basic services fail and in only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The best part is you can team up with other players to investigate the sources of the virus and reclaim the city from the overwhelming turmoil.
