Shaun Livingston given one-game suspension, while official receives one-week suspension

NBA official Courtney Kirkland and Golden State Warriors' Shaun Livingston suspended

But, upon further review, the league seems to have determined Kirkland was the more guilty party. "It was the right choice".

The Warriors have long believed, with at least some justification, that Stephen Curry is grabbed and bumped and clipped at a rate higher than his free throw totals would imply. Surely that's what the National Basketball Association itself also saw.

Livingston, however, is docked with a $2,000 fine per Spotrac, a hefty amount if you consider that the Warriors' backup guard could've just bought a punching bag and stuck a picture of Kirkland on it.

What we weren't sure about, however, was whether or not Kirkland would be punished for his role in the incident.

The Golden State Warriors guard didn't get a foul call on a turnaround shot from the low post and immediately turned to one of the referees to complain.

Kirkland's suspension will begin Tuesday and run through Monday, Dec. 11.

The ejection was the first of the season for Livingston, who stood face-to-face with official Courtney Kirkland under the Warriors' basket before Kirkland ejected him. He will be eligible to return to game action on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

In a odd twist, Livingston will serve the suspension Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.
