Snow possible Friday morning for North Shore; winter weather advisory issued

Computer models are painting two scenarios for Friday, according to the weather service in Huntsville, with one suggesting there will be light precipitation across north and parts of central Alabama, when high temperatures will make it only to the 40s.

Very strong winds that blew through Madison Monday night brought trees down in some areas and tossed Christmas decorations and garbage carts all over the place, and the strong winds won't back off until Wednesday, forecasters say.

Clear skies return for the weekend, but winter has a grip with lows in the upper 20s inland and low to mid 30s coastal.

A wind advisory will be in effect starting midnight Tuesday for the greater Vancouver area and nearby communities due to forecasted winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Portland.

A lake effect snow warning for Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and southern Erie counties remains in effect from 7 tonight through 7 a.m. Friday. Partly sunny, with a high near 35.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of rain.

Temperatures will warm, with a good chance of hitting mid to lower 50s around Billings on Thursday and Friday.

The temperature could feel more like 27 degrees, AccuWeather says.
