Terrorists attack Army convoy in J&K's Qazigund gun battle currently underway

"One militant was killed".

The suspected mastermind of the attack, Abu Ismail, was also killed in an encounter in September.

Seven pilgrims were killed and 15 injured when the militants attacked a Yatra bus on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

The area has been reportedly cordoned off by the security forces.

After the attack, the militants, said to be two in number, entered a private house which was surrounded immediately by the security forces.

Four civilians were injured in clashes with the security forces in Bonigamar area of Qazigund in southern Kulgam district following the encounter, a report said.

They took shelter inside a building.

The troops during a violent operation blasted a residential house with Improvised Explosive Devices in Qazigund area of the Bonigam district.

According to a police official, militants opened fire on an Army convoy, which was on its way to Srinagar.

Locals said that they heard massive blasts during evening hours and it seemed the building in which militant are present have been razed to ground. Due to encounter, authorities suspended traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway while train service to Banihal was also stopped.
