Altered Carbon | Date Announcement [HD] | Netflix

Netflix Reveals Altered Carbon Teaser and Premiere Date

The novel was followed by two sequels, Broken Angels and Woken Furies, which gives Netflix plenty of options for future seasons.

The cyberpunk TV series, based on a 2002 novel of the same name, will be released on 2nd February, 2018, Netflix announced in a teaser video. Human consciousness can be digitized and, through an unlovely process, people can switch bodies and their minds continue living on in other vessels.

Police deemed it a suicide, however Bancroft is convinced he was murdered and enlists Kovacs to find out the truth.

The show centers on Enovy soldier (who are elite interstellar warriors) Takeshi Kovacs, played by Joel Kinnaman from House Of Cards.

Netflix quietly acquired the rights to Altered Carbon at the start of 2016, but this sprawling story required a larger production than your average original. If aesthetic and visual believability matters to you in your sci-fi decisions, evidently Altered Carbon will fall into the Westworld-y higher-end of that spectrum. The show is reportedly Netflix's most expensive series to date and this new trailer definitely has my attention.

The pilot is being directed by Miguel Sapochnik who also directed the episode "Battle of the Bastards" in Game of Thrones and it certainly has a high quality, Blade Runner-esque look and feel to the production, 'cause that's basically what the world will be like, right? Head on over to the link below to see a few more images from the series.
