The Division Adds Gigantic Free Update 1.8

The Division's Big “Resistance” Update Hits Tomorrow, Will Be Followed by a Free Weekend

From the launch of patch 1.8 through the end of the free weekend, all players will also have access to the game's first three DLC expansions for free. The update will be available on Xbox One, Windows PC, and PlayStation 4. The sizeable release expands the game map with the new West Side Pier area, and adds two new game modes: the Resistance PvE mode, and the Skirmish PvP mode. Among the top additions is the new West Side Piers PvE map expansion, featuring new story content and side missions, along with a new social space called Camp Clinton. Keep an eye on the Gold section of your Xbox One dashboard if you don't want to miss the upcoming free weekend. Resistance will pit Division agents against an unprecedented alliance of enemy factions, challenging players to fight off waves of powerful foes and formidable bosses. The latter is a wave-based survival mode where players must hold out against continuous AI-controlled enemy assaults. During it, players will be able to try out the full game and all of its DLC for free. Skirmish is a new PvP mode where two teams of four players compete to get the highest number of kills before the time limit. Teams earn points each time a downed enemy player is eliminated. It's great to see Ubisoft fixing the rogue agents and making sure equipment you've used for a while doesn't become obsolete.

The trailer found further above definitely provides a solid surface level summary of what's in store for those who engage with The Division's Update 1.8, but there may be some who would enjoy a more comprehensive breakdown of its contents, particularly when it comes to the specifics of the new Rogue system in the Dark Zone, and the tweaks being implemented in Underground mode. The best part is you can team up with other players to investigate the sources of the virus and reclaim the city from the overwhelming turmoil.
