Dantonio responds to Harbaugh! Getcha popcorn ready!

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo calls out to his team in the second half of their college basketball game against Notre Dame at Breslin Center in East Lansing on Thursday

Not that it needed any help, but Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has escalated the rivalry between his school and Michigan State.

The Spartans, passed over for UM in the bowl selection process, were not pleased with the result.

"I'll just continue to focus on beating MI". "I'll just continue to continue to focus on beating MI".

And we know head coaches are prideful men, so you know Dantonio was going to have something else to say. "Good for BIG to have him back".

Michigan State had dominated #5 Notre Dame start to finish Thursday night, but the Cornhuskers were down just 18-12 when the Spartans went on a 16-4 run and kept the lead in double digits the rest of the way.

The Wolverines were chosen over the Spartans to head to the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day, despite the fact that MI lost the head-to-head matchup in October and had one less win than MSU.

The off-field troubles Harbaugh referenced in his tweet was the dismissal of four Michigan State players who were charged with sexual assault, part of 13 players who left the program prior to the 2017 season.

Dantonio and Harbaugh have gone head to head three times since the latter returned to the college ranks, with Michigan State winning two times.
