Atiku Abubakar urges defected PDP leaders to return

Atiku ‘shows face’ at PDP secretariat

THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that the return of the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, would add value to the process of rebuilding the party for greater heights.

After he was received by the spokesman for the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Atiku held a meeting with members of the National Caretaker Committee of the party led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

He gave the assurance on Tuesday in Abuja when the Association of Former Chairmen, Councillors and Ward Leaders paid him a visit in Abuja.

The shout of "Baba Oyoyo" rented the as the former Vice President was driven in a bullet-proof Mercedes Benz S-Class with registration number Lagos EX 449 SMK.

'There have been speculations in the media that I am returning home (the PDP) and I am so happy to be home now.

"I want to pay tribute to those who have stayed steadfast through thick and thin to see us through to this point".

"Nigerians should note one very interesting thing in the politics of Nigeria today; in the past, it used to be that people decamp or leave the party that has lost election or that is in opposition to the party that is ruling".

"I advise delegates to place the interest of the party first as that will help the party to enthrone dedicated, transparent and focused leadership".

He maintained that there was no other party that was truly settled outside APC, adding that even the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) was not stable because it was still fighting to get a chairman. "Though the truth is bitter, but I will continue to sacrifice myself in speaking the truth because I know I am speaking the minds of a lot of members who can not speak out", Frank said.

He told Atiku: "You have returned in good time and you should continue to contribute in this reinvention, remodelling of our party so that come 2019, we can reclaim what we can claim is ours". We are targeting the local governments.

‎"So PDP must be prepared for this, and be ready to reconcile and reiterate in such a way and manner that everybody will be treated and given a level playing field to purse his or her personal aspiration".

"We are glad he has returned to the party which gave him the opportunity to vie for positions both as a governor and as a vice-president".

"We want to sweep elections all across the party".
