Facebook kills its most annoying feature, App Invites

Facebook Creator App

We understand that creators have specific needs, and we're committed to helping them on their journey as they grow and find their community.

The Facebook Creator app is a one stop shop for creators of all kinds, to help take their passions to the next level.

Facebook is taking another step to build a more attractive home for digital video creators - and to take on internet-video heavyweight YouTube - with the rollout of a new purpose-built app for people whose full-time job is creating internet content.

The app includes a "live creative kit" that makes it easy to create live broadcasts with a personalized feel, complete with intros and outros, custom live stickers, and graphic frames.

Camera & Stories: Provides access to camera effects and frames and allows users to crosspost content to other platforms, as well as access to Facebook Stories.

The app creates a unified inbox for comments on Facebook and Instagram and messages from Messenger, so that you don't have to bounce between different apps in order to respond to people. You can check out the Facebook for Creators page right here.

Insights: Access to metrics including analytics about a creator's Page, videos and fans.

That's right, no longer will you roll your eyes and curse technology every time your aunt invites you to play Candy Cane Crush or Farmville 4: The Farmening or whatever bad game is on Facebook or connected to Facebook. The app is open to individuals on Pages or profiles, and you will be able to download it in the Apple App Store today. If you are interested, you can join the Facebook for Creators community here.

"We're continuously evaluating how to best serve our developer community", Facebook software engineer Ming Li wrote in a blog post.

The company opened a new office in Playa Vista previous year in part to strengthen its relationship with the entertainment industry and video creators who have flocked to YouTube.
