APK Beta Download Available - Delete Messages Sent by Mistake

WhatsApp Did you know that deleted messages can be read

Similarly, if you see "This message was deleted" in a chat, it means that the sender deleted their message for everyone.

To delete a message, open WhatsApp and go to the chat containing the message you want to delete.

Spanish website androidjefe reports that the deleted messages can still be accessed via an application called "Notification History".

However, since the feature's release last month, there have been doubts as to whether it actually works. You can then access the system's notification log.

Alternatively users can download a notification history app, which displays a list of all your recent notifications.

If you have sent a WhatsApp message by mistake to someone - its time for you to rejoice.

A spokesperson for WhatsApp told Tech Republic that the message deletion option doesn't delete notifications.

While users may not be able to see the message within WhatsApp after it is deleted, they can still see it in the notification log. In simple words, if your friend had sent you a message which consists of more than 100 characters - well, you may not able to read the whole message and may get access only to the first chunck of it - first 100 characters only.

Before you start worrying about other people reading the WhatsApp messages you unsent, there is a twist in the story. It allows its over one billion users revoke their messages in case they sent those to a wrong person or a group.

Interestingly, this only works for deleted text messages and not other media like photos or videos.

For mobile phones with "pure" Android, like Moto and Pixel phones, the settings widget is already added to the home screen and you will find the notification registry from there.

The team claims one way involves holding down the Settings icon, tapping the Widgets symbol that show up at the top of the pop-up window and dragging the Settings Widget to the home screen, before scrolling down to Notification Log and selecting the relevant messages.
