Woman surrenders in Columbia McDonald's drive-thru window break

Woman police dubbed "Hamburglar" turns herself in

A McDonald's drive-thru window became a squeeze-thru window for a woman who apparently needed a fast food fix.

The suspect can be seen on surveillance video filling up a soft drink and struggling to push a box filled with food and other McDonald's items out of the window to someone outside.

Police say the woman tried to get into the McDonald's drive-thru window and - with remarkable balance - reached for a drink.

Police did not say if anyone else was involved, and it's not clear that the restaurant was open at the time of the incident.

"It's insane that someone would actually break in and take anything, honestly", customer Michael Hembly said.

She was filmed handing a box of stolen goods back to a person on the street who was not pictured.

Police aren't saying how much food and cash she got away with. It's certainly one of the more unique burglary videos I've seen here. After securing her soda (and not forgetting the lid), she walks off camera.

Howard County, Maryland police are offering a $500 reward for any information on the suspect.
