Rs5 crore bounty for Deepika Padukone, Bhansali as Padmavati row continues

Deepika Padukone plays the titular role in the film Padmavati

Earlier, a member of Karni Sena had openly threatened to chop off Deepika Padukone's nose as he thinks that she has violated the Indian culture.

"But any movie that hurts the sentiments of any community. a film is not made to hurt any community", said Congress Spokesperson RPN Singh. While the protests against the film continues, the makers are looking forward for the release on December 1, 2017.

Incidents of discontent with the film's release have started coming up from across the country. Jauhar ki jwala hai, bahut kuch jalega. "This film is a clear attempt to destroy the legacy of Rajput warrior queen Padmavati and we will not allow them to do so", said a VHS leader adding protests will be organized at all movie theaters in Bihar to force theater owners from not showing the film.

Deepika recently wrapped the filming of her upcoming film, Padmavati and began promoting the film at various platforms.

He also referred Deepika as "naachnewaali" and slammed her for making regressing comments against women.

This is even after Sanjay Leela Bhansali released a video explaining that there was no objectionable scene between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji and that the film is based on historical facts.

Many stars have been calling the protests undemocratic, and have lent support to the film. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is yet to issue a certificate for the film. The movie's sets were vandalised twice and Bhansali was assaulted in February. The party members also set fire to the film's set in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile in Jaipur, members of Brahmin organisation Save Brahmin Mahasabha have started out a campaign where they are collecting 10,000 signatures written in blood to ban the film's release.

Following Shri Rajput Karni Sena's threat to Deepika Padukone, the Chatriya Samaj in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday announced a reward of Rs 5 crore to anyone beheading Padmavati's director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the actress.
