Tennessee State player expelled after punching coach on sideline

TSU Football Player Expelled After Violent Incident During Game

In a video that has widely circulated online, Lee, who has started two games this season for the Tigers, was captured punching Greenstone, a former Vanderbilt football player, twice in the face before the coach fell to the ground.

As the strength coach for the Tennessee State football team, T.J. Greenstone's main responsibilities lie in the weight room and not the field of play.

A Tennessee State player apparently felt the need to punch out one of his coaches on the sideline during a game between TSU and Southeast Missouri on Saturday. There is as of now no explanation of what led to Lee swinging on Greenstone. Coach Rod Reed kicked Lee off the team that same night.

University officials were informed and as of 10:30 a.m. on Monday the student has been withdrawn from school.

Greenstone recovered somewhat from the first punch, but Lee's fist returned nearly immediately, sending the couch down to the ground.

The Post has reached out to Nashville police and Tennessee State University police to see if any further action will be taken against Lee, and will update this post if needed. There is no word yet as to why in the hell Lee chose to poach Greenstone.

Lee, who did not play in Saturday's win, had 18 tackles including 3.5 for a loss this season.
