Shahid Kapoor takes a dig at Deepika Padukone?

Bollywood Sanjay Leela Bhansali Padmavati Central Board of Film Certification, deepika padukone padmini Ranveer Sing

While the director of the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been in constant conversation with the media regarding the opposition, lead actor Shahid Kapoor spoke to the media yesterday at a fashion event and urged the people to first watch the movie without harbouring any preconceived notions.

The movie "Padmavati" has been directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. "I want to ask you, is glorification of Khilji's character for the sake of public entertainment justified?" he said by adding that the film should be released only after making changes and keeping in the view the public sentiments. "He only does good, honest work". What is more, these bodies plan to write to the information and broadcasting ministry to ensure the safe release and screening of "Padmavati" across India.

Of the entire controversy surrounding Padmavati, the 31-year-old actress said, "It's appalling, it's absolutely appalling".

Addressing the issue, Shahid, who plays Maharawal Ratan Singh in the film, said, "I've been saying this for a long time". And that taking to violence to solve an issue is not the right way to go forward. I think we are equally excited for the release of the film.

Ajit also expressed that now they don't want to get into any other controversy and said, "We are going to this length as we want to quell the controversy; it is a needless controversy". I feel bad for a filmmaker, who is one of the best in the country. It's a very wrong thing to do. Now, as we know, the movie is facing a lot of problem before its release. Ranveer Singh is vacationing in California and therefore isn't available for comment. Deepika Padukone had earlier visited the Fever FM Studio and promoted Padmavati and grooved to the song, Ghoomar.

Before Deepika, Shahid said that the audience and those criticizing Padmavati should give the film a chance.
