Liverpool Star Out For 3 Months Following Surgery

Jurgen Klopp admits himself to hospital to undergo checks

The right-back has yet to feature for Liverpool this season after picking up an injury against Tranmere in pre season.

Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne has suffered another injury setback and is expected to continue on the sidelines for up to three more months after undergoing a back surgery.

Besides Clyne's long-term absence, the Reds are also running the rule over Sadio Mane who was forced to end his global duty with Senegal early last week with a suspected hamstring problem.

According to a report by the Gambling Times via the Daily Star, the player is still very keen to join the Catalan side and, despite the 25-year-old's reintegration into the first team, the Reds owners could leave the final say to Klopp.

The back problem has persisted and the England worldwide recently suffered a setback in his injury comeback.

Liverpool's head of medicine Andy Massey travelled with Clyne to London after deciding the surgery was the best option.

Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold have played in his absence this term.

The former of the pair has performed well in the role when given a chance and was recently called up to the England senior squad.

On Monday, news also spread that Sadio Mane had returned to Liverpool after his recent hamstring injury flared up again while on worldwide duty with Senegal.

"Obviously it is a concern that the hamstring injury is again on the agenda and it will be critical for us to monitor and manage that in the coming days", Klopp told liverpoolfc.com.
