Fire broke out at Annapurna Studios

Fire broke out on a Telugu film set in Annapurna Film Studios here on Monday evening, police said.

An huge fire accident occurred at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad today.

Nagarjuna said nobody was injured, adding it was rather sad that the set erected for film "Manam" was gutted. Due to the heavy traffic, the fire tenders arrived late and the staff members had to barricade the studio to prevent people from entering. When there is no guarantee of life itself, we need not worry about the set.

Sources say that the fire was initiated due to the short circuit and the fire engines got the flames into control. The set was empty when the incident happened.

In 1975, Annapurna Studios was established by legendary actor ANR aka Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who named it after his wife Annapurna Akkineni.

The exact cause of the fire is still not known.

In this 2014 movie, Nageswara Rao had acted with son Nagarjuna and grandsons Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Akkineni Akhil.

It primarily creates and appropriates Telugu films and and also gives different generation offices, including sound stages for set development, editing, open air sets, dubbing and digital intermediate suites.
