Carrie Underwood Suffers Broken Wrist After 'Hard Fall' At Her Home

Carrie Underwood breaks wrist in fall outside home

On Friday, Underwood broke her wrist and suffered multiple injuries after falling outside her home in Nashville. In addition to the wrist injury, she was treated at a hospital for cuts and bruises, her representative told the paper.

In a statement Sunday on Twitter, the 34-year-old country singer thanked her fans for messages of support following her fall Friday night.

Her husband Mike Fisher hasn't tweeted about the incident, but he had so much to say right after his wife's moving performance of "Softly and Tenderly" at the CMA Awards last week.

The statement from Underwood's representative notes that the singer "appreciates all prayers and well wishes", and that her recovery will "take some time".

Scary stuff. We're glad to hear Underwood is home and on the mend - and already active on social media.

Carrie later took to Twitter to thank her National Football League husband Mike Fisher for being with her during her accident: 'Glad I've got the best hubby in the world to take care of me'. 'I'll be alright... might just take some time'.

Due to her injuries, Underwood was forced to cancel her performance at the Country Rising benefit concert tonight in Nashville, according to the Tennessean. "This has been a year marked by tragedy, impacting countless lives, including so many in our country family", Underwood said in part.
