As such, she will be unable to perform during the Country Rising benefit concert that is scheduled for Sunday night (Nov. 12) in Nashville.

According to a statement given to People, the 34-year-old suffered "multiple injuries" after she fell on the steps outside her home.

At this moment, she will take some relaxing time off to recover with her husband, Mike Fisher, by her side as he flew in quickly after her injury. She reassured fans, "I've got the best hubby in the world to take care of me".

Carrie Underwood has spoken out after reportedly falling on steps outside her home in Nashville last week.

Carrie's representative reveals she was hospitalised on Friday (10Nov17) and treated for "multiple injuries", including cuts and bruises, after the accident.

Shortly after Underwood's rep released the statement, the country singer took to social media to express her gratitude to her fans and Fisher for their support.

The news emerges days after Carrie joined her pal Brad Paisley to co-host the 2017 Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Wednesday (08Nov17).

"Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody", she wrote.

However, she explained that her recovery would undoubtedly take some time.

The likes of George Strait, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and Keith Urban were among the performers at Sunday's event.

In related news, in August, Underwood's husband announced her retirement from National Hockey League.

The devout Christian couple tied the knot in 2010 at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Georgia.
