Utah Jazz give update on Rudy Gobert injury

Utah’s Rudy Gobert gets knocked down but comes back swinging in loss to the Miami Heat

Gobert suffered the injury during Friday's 84-74 home defeat to the Miami Heat.

The Jazz said in a release that an MRI showed a right tibia contusion and that he will be re-evaluated in four weeks. The team says Gobert will be reevaluated in four weeks.

Dion Waiters went after a loose ball during Friday's contest and fell into Gobert, which caused his knee to bend inward. Favors, who is two inches shorter than Gobert, recorded his first double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds in Saturday's 114-106 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

"I was feeling a little sore".

"I didn't even know that was him", the Heat guard said. It feels better than it looked on the video.

"I think it was a dirty play, but no matter what the most important thing is to keep getting better and to win tomorrow", Gobert told Eric Woodyard of the Deseret News.

Dion Waiters took exception to that comment.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Sunday although hoping no one would get hurt, he liked Waiters' aggressiveness on that play. But it could have been potentially been a worse injury.

The "Stifle Tower" is averaging 13.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks for the season.

As it stands, the 6-7 Jazz have the third-best defensive rating (which calculates points allowed per 100 possessions) in the league, which is crucial to their success, because they also they the fourth-worst offensive rating in the National Basketball Association. Stay tuned for the latest Rudy Gobert injury update.
