Taylor Swift Strips Things Down for 'Saturday Night Live' Performances

Happy Taylor Swift Day! The singer's long-awaited sixth album arrived just before midnight and naturally it's been all the buzz

On Thursday, hours before the release of her album, Swift debuted a previously unheard song from her album - closer "New Year's Day" - during a commercial break from ABC's show Scandal.

"The 27-year-old appeared as a musical guest act during Saturday night's episode, and there, she first took to the stage with a choreographed performance of her song ". "Ready for It?" from her new album Reputation.

Swift was the musical guest for the first time on "SNL" since her 2009 performance in conjunction with her second album, "Fearless".

Later on, Swift stripped things down with an acoustic version of "Call It What You Want".

"Reputation" is Swift's sixth album, and would be her fourth record to sell over one million copies in one week, joining the ranks of her 2010 album "Speak Now", 2012's "Red", and 2014's "1989".

This marks the second time Swift has performed material from Reputation on television. Accompanied by a cellist, an acoustic guitarist and the four singers, she threw the song's lyrics, interpreted by many as being about her public beef with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, into stark relief.

She concluded the lengthy letter by writing, "Let me say it louder again, louder for those in the back. She had performed both "Call It What You Want" and "... It is very clear that Taylor steal feels the burn of the "Famous" single and will probably continue to express her grievances through her music.

There isn't a star in the world brighter than Taylor Swift.

While the old Taylor may be dead, "Reputation" proves that Swift is still a force to be reckoned with, and her songwriting shows critics that there's strength in being vulnerable.
