RSS worker killed in Kerala's Thrissur

Kerala Another RSS worker hacked to death BJP suspects CPM role

Countering the BJP's Janaraksha Yatra, CPI (M) too held protests and meetings in various districts of the state.

The police said that the victim was stabbed repeatedly and succumbed to his injuries before he could reach to the hospital.

Anand was an accused in the murder case of a CPI (M) activist in 2013.

A series of political murders have been taking place in Kerala since the LDF came to power in May 2016, with both the BJP and the CPM blaming each other for the deaths.

It was learnt that a auto came near Anand's vehicle which rammed his bike and reportedly stabbed him with weapons at about 1.30 pm.

The family of Rajesh, the slain RSS activist, had blamed the ruling CPI (M) for his death.

He was an accused of the murder of a CPI (M) worker.

Anandan, who was hacked on his neck, was rushed to Rajah Hospital, but his life could not be saved. He was attacked in Nemeni near the temple town of Guruvayur.

The security has been tightened in Thrissur following the murder of the RSS member.

A report by the Times of India mentions Rahul R Nair, commissioner of police of Thrissur saying that the preliminary findings indicate that the murder was committed by three persons. "It never believed in democracy and annihilation of political rivals is the trademark of the party", said the BJP's state president while condemning the murder. The CPM seems to be shocked by the growth of the BJP in Thrissur, and that is why they are indulging in such violence, " BJP district president A Nagesh said.

The RSS ideologue, Rakesh Sinha, attacked chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the alleged murder of a right-wing group worker, calling him a product of violence. "This also proves the failure on the part of the police to take precautions", he added. Anand was allegedly attacked near Balrama Temple, Nenmini at around 1 p.m. on Sunday. We had lodged complaints with the police a few times on this.

Police sources said Anandan was on a bike with his friend Vishnu when a auto hit the two-wheeler from behind and the two fell off.

The murder of Anand has, yet again, highlighted the issue of political killings between the cadres of CPM and BJP/RSS that is rampant in Kerala for decades now.

Meanwhile, BJP state general secretary K Surendran alleged the role of CPM-SDPI workers behind the crime.
