A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker was allegedly murdered in Kerala's Thrissur on Sunday.

Anandan, 23-year-old RSS worker was murdered on Sunday. Three persons then got out of the auto and hacked Anandan.

His friend Vishnu, who sustained injuries on his leg, has been admitted to hospital.

Unidentified assailants have repeatedly stabbed him after they rammed their vehicle into his bike in Nenmini near Guruvayur in Thrissur.

Guruvyaur police said that they had not received any complaints from the victim regarding stalking. The murder is suspected to be a revenge killing. He was attacked in Nemeni near the temple town of Guruvayur.

The BJP has also called for a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Guruvayur and Manaloor constituencies to protest the murder. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that the ruling Communist Party of India (CPIM), in Kerala, is behind the murder of Vadekkethala Anandan. "Alleging that Jehadists had taken control of the CPI (M) in Kerala, Kummanam added that the CPI (M) was in direct and indirect contact with Islamists".

The CPI (M) on the other hand has denied playing any role in the killing of the RSS worker. "The CPI (M), which is scared of the BJP's growth in the district, is trying to destroy the party by unleashing violence", said Nagesh, the Thrissur district unit head of the BJP speaking to The Hindu.

The incident took place at about 1.30 pm. However one of the accused in the murder of CPM worker has been identified as Fazil. "This incident proves that the CPI (M) is not prepared to lay down arms even after all the peace efforts".

Anand was knocked down by the auto near Nenmini Balaraman temple. There was threat to his life. We are yet to find how many people were behind the attack. "But police failed to give sufficient protection", he said.

However, last month BJP had claimed CPM worker behind the attack on BJP RSS workers.
