PlayStation Sells VR Capabilities For Holidays

Skyrim VR will be launching later this month, and Sony has revealed a new Skyrim PlayStation VR bundle in celebration. The Skyrim Bundle comes with the latest version of the PSVR system. It will retail for $449.99 Dollars and as of this moment, the Skyrim VR PlayStation VR bundle is now available for pre-order! No word on an European Union bundle just yet. The bundle includes the PS VR itself, Camera, two Move controllers and Skyrim VR - including the Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn add-ons.

We are also excited to launch a brand new TV spot that drops you into the frigid and relentless plains of Skyrim as you get ready for an all-new journey against rival factions, creatures, and Alduin - the worldeater. This isn't a major improvement over last year's edition, only including a few small but appreciated updates such as high-dynamic range (HDR) passthrough for traditional PSVR games and some aesthetical refinements like improved earphone input.

The new Skyrim ad keeps that theme going, and Lempel says the goal was to really lean into the sensory experience of VR. Check back for full coverage of the game.

The upgraded system also brings a new Processor Unit, meant to allow HDR passthrough, meaning users can utilize HDR-compatible PS4 content without disconnecting the Processor Unit between the TV and console. For those who are longtime fans of the game, Skyrim VR will transport you right into the game's epic world.

Skyrim® VR can be played with either a DUALSHOCK 4 controller or the PlayStation Move Motion controllers. Your quest is to defeat Alduin while traveling the large map that is the province of Skyrim, and exploring the expanses of land that are readily available for you to discover.
