Commissioner Claims UFC Pulled Conor McGregor from Year-End Fight Card

Conor McGregor

But according to the card's regulatory head Mike Mazzulli, who serves as the director of the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation and the president of Association of Boxing Commission, UFC has handed out the first punishment to McGregor (21-3) behind the scenes. "So, I do commend UFC to some extent for doing that". Referee Marc Goddard is seen yelling at McGregor, before he turned to check on Redmond, who was on the ground. "They did inform me that he was set to be on the December 30th card and he will not be on it".

On Friday, the UFC lightweight champion brought a lot of eyes on the Bellator 187 event that took place in Dublin, Ireland.

One week ago, UFC president Dana White said he was expecting McGregor to return at either of the promotion's upcoming Las Vegas cards - December 30 and UFC 222 on March 3 - but that no deal had been signed. He was seen screaming at Goddard before finally exiting the ring. This is when McGregor "lost it" and pushed Goddard and shouted at him in the cage and even slapped a Bellator staff member.

Oscar De La Hoya was not quiet about his disdain for the much-publicized boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Conor McGregor this past summer. He also added that he will be speaking to his own attorneys regarding any potential action against the Irish fighter, and claimed that, were McGregor contracted to his organisation while pulling a stunt like this at a separate event, he would have been suspended indefinitely.

"So, when you're seeing someone that you're that close with, with two bad defeats and then has a great victory in front of his hometown crowd...he got a bit emotional, jumped in and he didn't realize that the fight had not actually been called".

"Let me tell you this. You have the right to be sanctioned". McGregor's post seems to indicate he felt Goddard took too long to officially declare the fight had ended.

UFC officials have yet to respond to multiple requests for comment on the situation.
