As for the specifications, the new Moto X sports a 5.2 inches FHD display on the front with a fingerprint sensor below it. The front camera has a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. At the top there are a SIM card slot, the power bottom and the volume rocker.

The phone comes with a precision-crafted glass and metal. There is a slight camera bump too, and it may be a bit bothersome for some.

The Moto X4 has a dual-camera setup at the back.

The camera also gets features like panorama in selfies, selective focus for the bokeh effect. It features a selfie flash, beautification mode, and face. filters. The Moto Z2 Play has two 12-megapixel cameras where one camera has a RGB sensor and the other a black and white sensor. In terms of the software, the Moto X 4 gen runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and packs Motorola's software customizations.

Instead, this device consists of a metal frame encased between Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and back. For instance, you can swipe three fingers to capture screenshots, and chop twice for flashlight. Motorola has confirmed an Android Oreo update by February next year. The glass back is prone to fingerprints and smudges, so you need to use a cover for that. Swipe to the left opens recent apps menu, whereas swipe to the left acts as a back key. The device comes with on-screen navigation buttons. Lastly, tap and hold invokes Google Assistant. Internally, the device comes powered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, the octa-core chipset clocking at 2.2GHz, and there is Adreno 508 GPU for the graphics. It supports TurboPower, offering up to six hours of power in 15 minutes of charge.

For the connectivity, the Moto X4 has 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4GHz + 5GHz, Wi-Fi hotspot, and it is the USB Type C port. The round camera unit juts out quite a fair bit from the body of the smartphone and is surrounded by a ribbed texture - which Motorola claims is inspired by high-end watches - which looks sleek and classy.? I haven't had a chance to fully test the capabilities of the Moto X4 yet, but early signs aren't promising.
