The period drama, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, has been facing protests from various communal groups, including Shree Rajput Karni Sena, for allegedly tampering historical facts.

Mumbai: Actress Deepika Padukone says that she can't wait for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial "Padmavati" to release.

The film is scheduled to be released on December 1.

Joining the ongoing controversy over the film, Swamy on Friday asserted that it should be enquired if there is worldwide conspiracy behind it.

The set of the movie was vandalised twice - in Jaipur and Kolhapur - and the director was roughed up by members of Karni Sena during the Jaipur schedule of the film earlier this year.

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the petition seeking a stay on the release of movie "Padmavati", saying that the Censor Board should take an independent view. "We are very much sure that there is dream sequence in the movie".

Padmavati continues to face extreme condemnation from the Rajput community who have criticized the filmmakers for distorting historical facts. "If the movie gets released, Rajputs will show what they can do", said Mr Bhati. "Sanjay Leela Bhansali makes lovely films and there is nothing wrong with his movies", Salman told Network 18.

The Indian Film and TV Director's association has expressed its outrage over the fringe group pressurising the government and they have made a decision to speak out against the harassment Sanjay Leela Bhansali with the hashtag #WeSupportPadmavati. He appealed to CBFC not to pass certification to the movie. The actor sought the blessings of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi for her upcoming film.

He further thanked his industry friends and fans who have supported the film and given an overwhelming response.
