Original Xbox Backward Compatibility Games Surface In Microsoft Store

How soon? How's tomorrow...

During E3, Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, announced Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge would be one of the titles to join the program but many more were in the works.

Over the weekend, an image circulated on social media showing more original Xbox titles that could be part of an initial launch. Users can also place the new Xbox One X both horizontally or vertically. We'll be joined by special guest James Ohlen, Lead Designer for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and will have giveaways, gameplay, and will be answering your questions throughout the stream.

Found in the Games On Demand section of Xbox.com, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Prince of Persia, Neowave: The King of Fighters, and more are available. This is done using the Heutchy Method-named after the Microsoft engineer who developed it-which is also used to play improved versions of original Xbox games on Xbox One. Each one has 1080p resolution, faster loading times, and higher/smoother frame rates.

There are only a few weeks left before Microsoft releases the new Xbox One X console to the market. Today, the company has revealed a list of the first 13 backwards compatible titles. And all of the 13 games are available digitally for $9.99 each.

If you plan to revive some of these backward compatible titles, you will only need your original game disc or have it in your digital library for download on Xbox One. We expect to release another curated list of Original Xbox classics in Spring 2018, so stayed tuned for more.

The Microsoft Xbox One X is just around the corner and if you want to play games at 4K on console then you might want to pre-order the console as the Microsoft Xbox One X will be flying out the doors at launch and you might not be able to get your hands on one.
