Gas Prices Down in Washington, Up in Wenatchee

Gas prices continue slide

A gallon of regular gasoline cost on average about 1.6 cents less this week.

AAA Northeast said gas in both states is down two cents, making Rhode Island's average price $2.58 per gallon and MA average price $2.49 per gallon. That's.02 cents lower than last week, and.11 cents lower than a month ago. Nationally, prices dropped by 1.6 cents per gallon to $2.44 per gallon.

Statewide, the average was $2.421 on Monday, down from $2.675 a month ago, AAA data showed.

For example, in northern Palm Beach County, nine stations were all pricing their gas above $2.60, including Texaco on US 1 in Tequesta, north of Jupiter Inlet, which was selling at $2.79 Monday.

"Gasoline futures and wholesale prices gained some strength last week, but not enough to stop the pump price plunge".

Gas prices keep falling in the southeast. Oakland- $3.07/g, down 2.5 cents per gallon from last week's $3.09/g.

Gas prices are continuing to fall, but they still haven't fallen to where they were before Hurricane Harvey roared into the Gulf of Mexico. Experts say gas prices in some parts of the country like the Midwest, are higher due to refineries undergoing seasonal maintenance.
