Watch Katy Perry get stuck in mid-air during live performance

Katy Perry was stuck hanging over the crowd when her stage malfunctioned in Nashville

Katy Perry has probably seen it all on her world tours, but she certainly wasn't expecting to get stuck mid-air during her Nashville concert!

She had just finished singing "Thinking of You" off her early One of the Boys album and was dressed in a matching crystal-clad gown and wig.

"I'm really stuck", she confessed to concertgoers.

Katy Perry leapt into the arms of fans after becoming stuck on a prop dangling high above the crowd. The U.S. leg of her Witness: The Tour continues in St Louis, Missouri on Sunday (22Oct17), she is set to trek across North America before heading to Europe next May.

Dave Paulson from The Tennessean captured the hilarious moment on camera. "I know I'm kind of a space cadet, but actually, this thing is being stuck right now", the 32-year-old superstar quipped. I guess I'm just going to have to get down and walk amongst my people. It's a whole big deal - you'd better pick your phone up because this is a YouTube moment.

'This is what you get for trying to bring out all of space to Nashville!' Thanks to a malfunction, Perry's floating stage was suspended mid-air for an uncomfortable stretch of time.

As a global pop megastar, Katy Perry's live shows go to outrageous extremes with stage design (as we saw during her basketball-themed performance of "Swish Swish" during the VMAs).

In a report by Variety, Perry continued to talk to the fans during the time she was stuck.

"I do not want to smash you by sitting on you with a planet".
