Netflix's The Punisher gets release date with new trailer

The series, inspired by the comic book and starring Washington native Jon Bernthal as the lethal anti-hero, will be released November 17.

The Punisher has been riding on the waves of high anticipation since his character debut in season 2 of Daredevil.

This is the longest look yet at what we can expect from the series. Working in the military, Frank Castle is asked to do things no soldier should have to do. Reeling from the trauma after his family is killed, he's trying to find his goal after the battle-looking for something to fight for.

Marvel has given something for The Punisher to exact his revenge upon and that is the government that killed his family and left him for dead. Curtis Hoyle, David Lieberman, Dinah Madani, and Karen Page all have parts to play in Frank's journey and throw their assistance Castle's way despite aversions to some of his methods.

The 13-episode season will begin streaming the same day that another big superhero franchise hits theaters: DC's Justice LeagueThat doesn't seem like a coincidence.
