NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has announced that the Dallas Cowboys will play host to this huge springtime event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The NFL draft used to be in New York City, but since 2015 the NFL has been on the road with the draft, having Chicago host it in back to back years in 2015 and 2016, and Philadelphia hosting it in 2017.

"We are very excited about the 2018 NFL Draft coming to Dallas", said Charlotte Anderson, the Cowboys' executive VP and chief brand officer. The three-day event will be held in the Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas.

From 1965 to 2014, the NFL Draft was held in NY.

Philadelphia was the first city to make a festival-style event out of the draft, drawing over 250,000 attendees from 42 states and delivering nearly $95 million of economic impact to the city, according to a study conducted by Temple University's Sports and Research Center. Last year, the draft was in Philadelphia at the iconic Art Museum steps.

"Props to the people of Philadelphia". It will host the return of the Big 12 Championship this year.

"Wildest, most raucous atmosphere in draft history". The draft will be held again in late April from the 26th to the 28th. Goodell acknowledged that Philadelphia, which hadn't hosted the draft since 1961, "set the bar high" for future drafts. In total, the event generated more than $94 million in economic impact for the city, surpassing initial projections and supporting an estimated 30,000 local jobs.

Jerry Jones, in NY on Tuesday for National Football League meetings, got an earful from a protester.
