As a result of the latest Federation Internationale de Football Association ranking, Pot One for the Russia 2018 draw on December 1 has been decided.

The Indian football team rose two spots to 105th position in the FIFA rankings released on Monday.

Federation Internationale de Football Association uses its October World Ranking to decide all four seeding pots, despite nine places in the 32-team World Cup line-up still to be decided in November.

Russian Federation is top-seeded for the World Cup despite being ranked No. 65. The team drawn first will be at home in the first leg.

Spain will be in pot two, where they will be joined by England, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay.

The main round of the global qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup has been already concluded and nine remaining vacant spots in the championship will be determined in the play-off round.

Chile at No. 9 is the highest-ranked team eliminated from the World Cup.

Martin O'Neill's side will be unseeded for tomorrow's draw for the play-offs with confirmation that Switzerland, Italy, Croatia and Denmark are the seeded nations. India last played in the tournament in 2011 when they qualified after winning the AFC Challenge Cup.

Nigeria and Serbia could also end up in pot four, depending who goes through from the play-offs.
