Of course, if you're a progressive person, the idea of someone who is able to competently deploy the machinery of the state towards sharply right-wing ends should probably scare you more than the abject shitshow Trump is administering. The Human Rights Campaign, a large civil rights organisation in the U.S. said of the LGBT comment: "That's not amusing, that's evil".

Pence and Collins will discuss the importance of overhauling the tax code with business leaders, community leaders and local families, according to the White House.

According to the unnamed sources, Mr Trump was mocking the religiosity of Mr Pence, who is a firm evangelical Christian.
