Disney World becomes the happiest place on Earth for dogs too

Walt Disney World announced today that dogs (real dogs, that is) will now be allowed at four of its Florida resorts: Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and The Cabins at Disney's Ft. Dog walking maps, disposable bags, food bowls, an ID tag, and the like will start their trip off on the right foot. These are the only Disney resorts, worldwide, that will be offering this pet-friendly program.

Walt Disney World Resorts are even rolling out the welcome mat for these four-legged guests: Each of the dog-friendly resorts will provide easy access to pet relief areas and green spaces for your pup to play in.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, Disney's Art of Animation Resort and the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground are all participating in the new pilot program.

For those in California, Disneyland Resort Hotels do not allow pets in their rooms aside from "trained service animals".

Dogs of all shapes and sizes will soon be spotted on the streets of Disney World.

For additional fees, Disney World's on-property facility called Best Friends offers other pet-care services, including day care.

Guests are encouraged to only bring good boys or girls to the resort: All pets must be well-behaved, leashed while in public areas and vaccinated.

This new service marks a huge change for how dog lovers will vacation at the Magic Kingdom and beyond, allowing guests to take waterfront walks with their beloved pets and pop out of Epcot's World Showcase to hug their pups. Walt Disney World hosts a Best Friends Pet Care kennel, which boards both dogs and cats, with nightly per-dog rates starting at $44 per canine, with a $3 discount for Walt Disney World hotel resort guests.
