Xiaomi will also be introducing a 0 per cent EMI scheme for the device. The Mi Mix 2 follows the same design as the original, with a larger 18:9 aspect ratio, which means more screen-to-body ratio than the original.

Launched last month in China, Xiaomi is bringing the Mi MIX 2 to India. While most phones - including mid and low-range phones - in the market come with IP68 certification, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 strangely does not come with any promise of being safe against splashes. The Mi Mix 2 will go up for sale later this month for ₹35,999 for the variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage, and will be available exclusively on Flipkart. On the software front, the Mi Mix 2 is running the latest build of MIUI 9 atop Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Also, they have shifted the front camera at the bottom right corner to serve the same objective.

- 5.99-inch Full HD display. The "hidden sound-guided speaker" which resonates sound through the display and frame is likely to entice the prospective customers. Similar to the iPhone X, even the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 features the facial recognition technology. Mi MIX 2 has a 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

There is a single camera on the back that has a 12-Megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilisation (OIS). On the front side, there is a 5-megapixel front camera. A 3400mAh battery sits under the hood and provides enough fuel to the phone to last for the whole day.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is the successor to the Mi MIX, which remained in its home country and never made it to India. The three models offer 6GB RAM and 64GB storage; 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and 6GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The device was launched less than a year after the release of the Mi Mix, which sold out in just seconds during its first flash sales.

For many years, wireless charging has been touted as a convenient solution to charging phones without using clunky cables, and for a forward-looking phone like the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 to not come equipped with the tech to support it is a bit of a bummer.
