Wenger says Sanchez, Ozil could be sold in January

Alexis Sanchez

When asked if their was a deadline to agreeing a contract extension, Wenger said via Sky Sports: "No, not at the moment".

It's expected Sanchez will leave Arsenal at the end of the season, which will lead to a scramble to sign the forward.

But while Arsenal have yet to make a concrete offer amid reported interest from clubs like Manchester United, Ozil hasn't ruled out extending his contract with the Gunners, the source said.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal's Premier League clash against Watford on Saturday, he said: "In our situation, we have envisaged every solution".

Asked if he was anxious about Sanchez's mental state, Wenger said: "I will have to speak to him".

The 31-year old preferred to stay and fight for his place over the summer but things could be different in 2018.

Indeed, he's not only one of Arsenal's only world-class talents, he's among the best players in the Premier League.

Both Ozil and Sanchez are being linked with major moves away from the club, while Arsenal are still keen on securing new deals for the pair.

On Sanchez, Wenger said: "I will have to speak to him". The fact that we didn't find agreement previous year doesn't mean he wants to leave.

He added: "It is more likely that Sanchez will play against Watford than Ozil".

But Sanchez is due to be assessed after playing in Chile's 3-0 loss to Brazil on Wednesday, which ended their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.

"The message from Wenger to Sanchez today was: "Give me until January and then you can go", Keown told the Daily Mail.

"It was a very physical game".

Wenger added that Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi will not be fit until after the next worldwide break in November while hoping Laurien Koscielny will step in. "Koscielny has his test tomorrow".

"At the moment, he's not available".

Striker Danny Welbeck is back in contention after a groin injury, while left-back Sead Kolasinac faces a late fitness test on a hip complaint. Wenger believes that the physical nature of the game could have had an effect on Sanchez. I don't see Jack being fully fit and not going to the World Cup.
