Sylvester Stallone to direct 'Creed II'

Sylvester Stallone says he's directing Creed 2

Last night Sylvester Stallone announced on Instagram that he will be directing "Creed 2".

On Monday, Stallone posted a still of himself and Jordan posing together on his Instagram account with the caption "Looking forward to directing and Producing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in CREED 2 next year ..." News for "Creed 2" just seems to leak out in small doses so no doubt more to come... This confirms that Creed director and co-writer Ryan Coogler won't be involved with the sequel, as Stallone has already stated that he has written the movie's script.

Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan are ready to get back in the ring.

Stallone won a Golden Globe for his performance as the aging Rocky Balboa in Creed, as well as receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

In addition to writing and starring in the original "Rocky", Stallone had directed four of the previous sequels, including "Rocky Balboa" - made 30 years after the original, when Stallone was 60 years old - which was assumed to bring closure to the successful franchise.

Stallone announced on September 1 that "Creed 2" would be shooting next year and posted a still of himself and Jordan training, on his Instagram account with the caption "Getting stronger!" With its release in 2015, Creed earned more than $173,000,000 worldwide at the box office.
