NYPD Now Officially Investigating Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein

The New York Police Department on Thursday said it was conducting a review to determine if there are any other complaints against Weinstein in the agency's jurisdiction.

Beckinsale said she left "uneasy but unscathed" after declining alcohol and saying she had school in the morning.

London's Metropolitan Police force says it has received an allegation of sexual assault from the Merseyside force in northwest England.

In addition, Ashley Judd, Mira Sorvino, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie have been among the more high-profile celebrities to go on the record about their alleged encounters.

Over the years, the film academy has dished out a total of 81 Oscars thanks to films produced by Weinstein's distribution companies, Miramax and the Weinstein Company.

Battilana Gutierrez is heard asking on the recording, which The New Yorker published.

Weinstein's representatives did not return a request for further comment Wednesday, but have said in a statement that "any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied" by him and that he did not retaliate against women who rejected his advances. However, some assaults described in the New Yorker piece took place in NY, where first-degree sexual assault has no time limit.

Cohen's letter to the board did not describe the contents of Harvey Weinstein's file, nor did it address whether Weinstein had entered into private settlements with women who complained of misconduct.

In a video captured by TMZ, Weinstein speaks to the paparazzi as he leaves his daughter's house in L.A. and gets into a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon.

McGowan's suspension caused an enormous backlash on social media, with many criticizing Twitter for a move that would silence an alleged victim of sexual harassment by Harvey Weinstein on its service.

"Why yesterday you touch my breast?" the 22-year-old asked on the recording, published by The New Yorker. Police had her make a secret recording, in which Weinstein could be heard repeatedly insisting that she come into his room, which she refused to do. I'm used to that.

Seth MacFarlane has also come out to explain the story behind a joke he made at Weinstein's expense during the announcement of Academy Award nominations.

But Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said the NYPD botched the probe into Weinstein by not consulting with his office first.

The French actress, who won the Palme d'Or at Cannes for Blue Is The Warmest Colour, said the film mogul stared at her "as if I was a piece of meat".

"I, like they, were very disturbed by the contents of the tape".

Police investigated that allegation as a case of forcible touching, a misdemeanour with a two-year time limit for bringing charges. NY state has no statute of limitations on most serious felonies, including rape.

On Sunday, Weinstein was removed from his powerhouse film studio in the wake of the mounting allegations.

"These actions point to a pattern of behaviour that merits only the clearest and most unequivocal condemnation", festival president Pierre Lescure and general delegate Thierry Fremaux wrote in a statement.
