Legends of Tomorrow: What Victor Garber's Exit Means for Firestorm

Victor Garber is leaving "Legends of Tomorrow". Rumblings about the actor's exit reportedly first surfaced when the show was wrapping its sophomore run. The studio and network are not confirming but it seems inevitably true considering the amount of time to go into a Broadway production. As previously reported, Garber will star opposite Bernadette Peters in the Tony-winning show beginning January 20th.

I first heard rumblings about a potential Garber exit last spring as Legends of Tomorrow was wrapping its second season. Actor David Hyde Pierce now plays the part in the hit Broadway revival, starring Bette Midler. In the episode, it was revealed that Garber's Stein is going to be a grandfather. Even so, Stein made a decision to stay with the Legends, promising to return for the birth of his granddaughter. After wrapping his run on the show, which should be shortly, Garber is expected to move back to NY to start preparing for Hello, Dolly! Or will the Legends scoop a younger version of Stein from the timeline to be part of the team?

Victor Garber is a Broadway veteran who most recently appeared in 2010's PRESENT LAUGHTER. Back then, Stein's Firestorm partner was Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell). Soon after, Stein and Jax were recruited by Rip (Arthur Darvill) and became members of the Legends.

It's hard to imagine the Legends of Tomorrow crew without its resident professor, but that's exactly what fans will have to get used to after season 3 is over. Legends also comes back in a whole new time slot, moving to Tuesday nights immediately after The Flash, a move created to help bump its popularity.
