The Feud Between Trump and Corker Is Puzzling to Washington Insiders

"Corker had 2 aides on line, also recording, and they made sure after it ended that I was taping, too", Martin said in response to Trump's tweet.

"The Failing [New York Times] set Liddle' Bob Corker up by recording his conversation", Trump tweeted out.

"You know he does it, everyone knows he does it, but he does", Corker added.

The Tennessee Republican suggested Trump was a man-child in an "adult day care center" and could lead the USA on the path to World War III.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) said he didn't condone Corker's comments and several people were concerned about the president's unpredictable tweets. "I don't like normally talking to you on the record - I'm kidding you - but I will".

Earlier, Corker, the current chairman of the Senate's Committee on Foreign Relations, told The New York Times that Trump's impulsive policy risks setting the country "on the path to World War III".

Trump alleged Sunday morning on Twitter that Corker recently "begged" him for his endorsement, did not receive it and made a decision to retire because he "didn't have the guts" to run for re-election next year. I would fully expect Corker to be a negative voice and stand in the way of our great agenda.

As turmoil continues to envelop Trump's administration, the president has become "unstable", and has started "unraveling", and has been "consumed with dark moods", according to sources who spoke with Vanity Fair. "I don't think so at all", he said.

"Senator Corker worked with Nancy Pelosi and the Obama administration to pave the way for that and rolled out the red carpet for the Iran deal", White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at a briefing.

Meanwhile, Corker's chief of staff, Todd Womack, denied Trump's characterization of his private conversations with the senator, who announced last month that he plans to retire and not seek re-election in 2018. The PolitiFact scorecard found that 17 percent of Trump's statements were true or mostly true, 15 percent were half true and that 69 percent of his statements were mostly false or false.
