Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Donating All Proceeds Today To Mental Health Charity


People who have yet to purchase or play Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice may want to consider buying the game today.

Hellblade is a superb exploration of mental illness told with poise and poignancy.

Ninja Theory also announced today that it will be donating all of the money made by the game tomorrow in celebration of World Mental Health Day. "We are delighted to be supporting this important work with this donation, Ninja Theory said, in a press release".

While the representation of mental illness is many video games is relegated to "psycho" villains and other harmful tropes, Hellblade takes a fearless look at what it's like to live with psychosis through the eyes of its protagonist Senua.

Mental health is a key theme throughout the narrative of Hellblade with players adopting the role of Senua, a traumatised Celtic warrior struggling with psychosis. The news came via a new trailer for the game, touting the various comments it has received from fans. A very different kind of accolades trailer.
